We are incredibly happy and grateful to let you know some happy news - we welcomed baby Edith Joanna into our home yesterday, on Mother’s Day afternoon.
Its a strange time to be having a baby and difficult to find the right words to announce her safe arrival, when I know that so many people are facing uncertain and difficult futures.
I’m taking the decision tonight to halt deliveries from the online shop as well as closing the bricks and mortar. My own wonderful mum has been the one delivering parcels to the post office for me for the last few days and I’m no longer happy putting her at risk nor the wider public. I understand that nappies could be deemed essential items but there are free alternatives you can find around the home and I will share more information on those in the coming days.
I won’t be ordering new stock or sending out any deliveries until after this crisis.
Aside from giving birth yesterday, I was also thinking of all the mothers out there who are missing their babies, all the children missing their mothers and all the mothers and children who have been separated recently amidst the pandemic, including those who have been patiently waiting and preparing for fertility treatment that can no longer go ahead.
Today my parents met their new granddaughter through a window as we spent our first day in self isolation. All in all, the closure of my little shop is absolutely nothing compared to protecting the future for these little people we are bringing into the world, and ensuring the safety of our community and the people who love them so much.
I am sorry I have been quiet for the last few days, but I am here for you if you need a friendly chat over the coming weeks. 💛
